IMO people pay a lot for private colleges that are not ranked in the top 10,20 or even 50 in their chosen career path. If you’re not going to a school where the best professors in the world teach, go to your local state university or somewhere that you get a scholarship. Where ever you go make sure you’re getting good value.
Tuition at state schools is way cheaper if you’re a resident. The extra money on that private school that has a cool lifestyle attraction (pool, common area, gym, dorm) isn’t worth it. The prestige difference and education quality probably isn’t large enough between a medium ranked private school (with no scholarship) and a state school to warrant the extra money.
