Work Smart Not Hard with some Advice😉
For the amount of work and bullshit out here we have to deal with as drivers....You're playing yourself with this job if you're not getting your full 10hrs in...its okay to be fast but is it worth it if you're not getting a full payout at the end of the week along with the physical stress you endure after?.....Depending on the day I normally finish my route between 1.5-2.5hrs early doing 180+ everyday with ease.... & no I'm not rescuing nobody after ...i just make it look like i still have some work left and slow down drastically usually with like 10 stops left (at minimum)....at that point I'm just hanging out & chilling outside or casually sitting in a restaurant cooling off or eating until the last 30min to RTS.....My best advice coming from someone who use to drive gas vans going an hour out just to get to my 1st stop on a country route. If you're sick of not having room in your van & tired of driving an hour out you're better off joining a DSP that has EDVs & choose the one that only takes 10-30min MAX to get to your 1st stop depending on where you live [even better if you're able to get the earliest shift start possible]....it just makes your job 10xs more easier especially if you're already good at it as is..... yes country routes are pretty smooth...way less traffic than normal but the difference is having to drive to each house 3-7min apart which just makes the job drag versus joining the EDV team and each house is the next one over or so all while having all the space you need to just grab and go...also you get to keep that side door open for majority of the day. Nothing annoyed me more than having to fight my way through a gas van on top of having to consistently open and close that damn door...it gets heavier as the day goes on & can really kill your energy opening and closing it all day....so if you been thinking about leaving your current dsp this is your sign😉
