Good news and troubling news
Hello everyone,
I’m a newly homeless individual. 31F and on the spectrum for autism. Moderately asthmatic so I can only work jobs that don’t require physical labor.
This year was a very traumatic one for me as I was laid off from my job, i had to be hospitalized due to an asthma attack and my sister (who I lived with during all of this) passed away. All of this happened within two months. I found a job with housing, spent most of my life savings to relocate and they immediately decided I wasn’t fit for the position and gave me the boot. (They lied to me about my job duties—the position involved loads of physical labor in the hot sun which is not something I can do. But thats a story for another day).
hopefully I will be able to stay in a shelter funded by a church this evening. I stayed in a motel (voucher supplied by a charity—the woman who helped me was incredibly kind) but unfortunately I couldn’t any longer due to it being one night (and I unfortunately got bitten up by bugs)
So good news: I have secured employment and it provides housing. I start on the sixth of july.
But the troubling news is that, it is located in the state I was previously (and its the only state in the US with workers rights protections) and I checked my account to see I only have eight dollars to my name now.
I don’t have any family or friends to ask for help—My mom left me and my sister stranded in a different city when I was 18. My father passed in 2021 and the rest of my family are just greedy people. My friends are unfortunately battling their own financial problems and housing crisis, I can’t burden them.
So, I have come to humbly ask if there is anyone who can help me build the funds to do this. I am out of options and I don’t know how I can do this alone. I have paypal and cashapp.
Thank you.
