Steam deck SteamOS failure and rapidly draining battery

Hello, Im having an issue where SteamOS is failing to launch on my steam deck. My deck crashed one time, and I tried to load its BIOS, but it didn't finish. Instead, it goes to a page listing the current version to the SteamOS, previous version, the option to load both with boot menu, and erase user data from deck. At the bottom, it lists how many times launching the OS failed since it first started happening.

This started after the steam deck battery died overnight the night before. Unlike other people who have had a similar issue, I am able to use the directional pad to move between the different options and select one using the A button. I tried to select the previous OS version. It worked once, but very quickly it kept crashing over and over again in a loop. One out of ten times it does work, however, it does eventually crash back. Also, the battery now drains extremely quickly.
