We love each other differently

"If you love someone, you don't get to choose how they love you back." That quote came up in a book I was reading and it hit me like a truck. I've been struggling with how and why we ended, but that quote really sums us up. I loved you by standing by your side to support you for as long as I was able, and you loved me by making the hard decision to leave when you thought we needed it. As much as I hate you leaving, and hate your silence even more, I don't get to choose how you show your what love you still have for me.
