Hello everyone, I know this will be long so I apologize in advance.
I got a ton of bloodwork done through Whoop on Saturday and the results have trickled in. For background, I have always felt like garbage since about the time I was 19. When I was 18 I was 175lbs (5’11 F for reference). Fast forward 10 years and I’m 255lbs. At 18, I gained 15 pounds after my freshman year of college. Freshman 15, fine. I was definitely eating like crap. But at 19, I gained 40 pounds in 3 months. I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have been on medication since. My thyroid is functioning really well with my dosage. However, over the past 9 years I’ve continued to gain weight and NEVER have been able to lose it, except for one time I dealt with hyperthyroidism. My health has gotten continuously worse over the past decade and I’ve felt something is really wrong with my body for years. Every time I attempted to exercise, I’ve gained weight and then I get beyond discouraged and give up. Repeat cycle. I went to the doctor had some test done to figure out how many calories I was eating in a day and how much I should eat. I was eating 1800 on average so was told to eat 1600 every day. Lost two pounds but gained it right back if I even went a little over 1600. In 2022, I started having high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2.5 years. Well I recently gained 5 pounds again (idk why) and my blood pressure numbers are starting to creep up despite being on my normal dosage.
Today, I get these numbers and I finally feel like I have part of the answer. I’ve been tempted to get on a GLP-1 for years but never wanted to do it without proof of a problem for fear of side effects. And even still now, I want to make sure I’m setting my body up right if I do get put on one by a doctor. What do I need to do before I see my doctor? I just got a CGM today and have started tracking that. I’ve been walking at least 8000 steps a day (and have seen a great improvement in cholesterol numbers despite gaining more weight), and I have been trying to eat lower fat during the work week (my diet definitely needs help but it’s all so overwhelming for me). I need to get back to resistance training cause that did make me feel good despite gaining weight from it.
Ultimately, I feel like I need to lose weight to lower my blood pressure. Even though I’m really tired of being fat, my internal health is most important to me. I want to be and feel healthy. I don’t want to have high blood pressure all my life starting at 26. Thank you if you read all this and are able to give advice.

TDLR: I’ve gained 60 pounds in the last decade and haven’t been able to lose anything. I have well controlled hypothyroidism and have high blood pressure that seems to get worse with weight gain. Want to get on a GLP-1 but be responsible about it. Help.

Where to go from here?
