A beloved fan who has been out of the loop for too long (2 months)

Hey, last thing I watch of the adventure time was Fiona and cake and I longed for more content but now that side quest is out (I haven’t watched yet btw) I feel that if gotten content I wasn’t quite hoping for I wished for a continuation of characters I love like Finn and Jake especially Jake but from what I have spoiled for myself it feel as if they took a step backwards to characters who lost all of their character development and left their future selves in the dust. Should I just be happy with what they give us I know for a fact I will watch side quest anyway but is their any news of future Fiona and cake seasons or other series that might bring light to characters like Jake
