I tracked my focus and youtube fan noise was not as reliable as I thought
I used youtube fan noise during study sessions for a year before I started paying attention to how often it broke my flow.
When I actually noticed, youtube fan noise was interrupting me more than I realized, an ad here, a buffering pause there, so I replaced youtube fan noise with an offline fan hum and my sessions got noticeably smoother. Fan noise is ideal for focus because it is featureless, but only if it actually stays on. Every interruption is a moment my attention escapes and takes minutes to claw back. Consistency turned out to be the real productivity feature.
The value of focus audio is that it never stops.
I use an app called Mindael because the fan sounds run offline with no ads and a built in pomodoro keeps my blocks structured. There is an optional focus report that shows your session history if you are into tracking, though the free pomodoro and sounds are what I lean on daily. Mindael keeps my study sound rock steady.

If you study to a fan, make sure it never cuts out. Mindael tightened up my sessions. What do you focus to?
