New Helix owner

Hey everybody, I just purchased a 1996 Honda Helix with about 7000 miles. Obviously it’s 30 years old so I need to do some maintenance ; replace the fuel filter, clean the carburetor,
maybe a new fuel pump.

I’m maxing out at about 60 mph, but I was wondering what the top speed for most of everybody here Helix’s is.

I know it’s not a sports bike, but 250 cc should get me close to 70 to 73 miles an hour I’m guessing.

I found a video on YouTube of a fella who restored his Honda Helix has about 10 episodes refers to it as the book of the Helix. Everything looks relatively simple to maintain however I’m new to the scooter world and having spent most of my time on a 1200 cc I would like to get the most MPH that I can from the Helix was hoping you guys can help me set my expectations that are realistic sort of level. I also noticed some vibrations at 60 mph. I figured I just need to get the tires balanced, but if anybody else is experienced similar sort of vibrations at the higher RPM, I would be keen to learn of your diagnosis and troubleshooting methodology all my bikes in the past have been fuel injected so this carburetor scooter manufactured when I was 14 yrs old is a little bit more than keeping with my Harley Davidson that would break down all the time.

Looking forward to participating in this community and showing off the ideas I have for my new scoot.

Thank you!
