My Equinox EV in the (Michigan) heat

Discussion :double-chat-icon:

I got my ‘24 2RS AWD in late January, right before the big cold snap of the season. Here in lower Michigan, our weather is quite boring. We tend not to get blockbuster snows, and Lake Michigan tends to moderate cold snaps and heat waves. This week, I finally get a chance to try out my Equinox EV in the heat and humidity. So far, the A/C works great. It takes a long time to cool (even when the air temperature is 75 or so)… but when the interior eventually gets cool, it works quite well. ChatGPT was telling me that GM designed the Equinox EV for extreme heat such as what they see in Arizona, but I’m curious what this community can tell me about how the battery keeps cool, and how the air-conditioning even works. How does this vehicle hold up in the heat?
