Games with upgraded versions from Switch 1 to Switch 2, are their saves safe to repeatedly move back and forth between the generations?

So we have the following Switch 1 games with Switch 2 upgrades: Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Xenoblade Chronicles. I've already copied all our Switch 1 saves to our Switch 2. My question is, since I won't always have access to the Switch 2, is it safe to upload the saves from the Switch 2 and download them on the Switch 1 to continue my gameplay and then backup online to resume again on Switch 2? Essentially ping ponging my saves repeatedly between the generations.

I know I will be locked out of features that are exclusive to the Switch 2. I'm just concerned of possible bugs or corrupted files. Since the cloud storage doesn't differentiate between Switch 1 and Switch 2 saves for these games, I'm worried that I need to stick with one particular generation for each title to avoid losing progress.
