Thought my shit was bugged for a hot second, but I finally passed historical. Figured I’d post about how I did it here.

First, the engine. To my knowledge, the Rivett has two engine configurations: NA (base) and NE(high output). My GT had the NE configuration, which means it needed the two barrel carb, the factory headers (not the manifold, but not either of the options from the amistech catalog, has to be the calcified headers), and the fast road camshaft. I had my engine running during the inspection to avoid failure because of the exhaust, and I tuned it to be on the leaner end of the spectrum to avoid failing due to emissions (tune it to 14.7, then a click or two lean). I ran the stock flywheel and radiator, I have heard but have not verified that you can run the racing radiator and lightweight flywheel.

The exterior and interior is the most tedious part. I had to get facelift doors that had the GT door cards, and I had to get all GT seats with the fronts being buckets. You need the white shift knob if you’re manual for GT. Mine had the radio delete and the tachometer, so super specific instrument cluster. You need that funky looking facelift bumper and grill. If you’re using the mod that changes the Rivett to have square headlights (more Corris stuff I think it’s called, something like that), the right grill is just body colored. You need the ducktail rear bootlid and the chunky rear bumper.

Mine had the lowered and stiffened suspension, to make sure I got the right springs I ordered them custom from Fleetari. They were 4.5”, 270 pound springs.

I ran the octo wheels and gommer gobra tires, I don’t think the tire size matters, I went with the tallest ones.

You gotta install the fender flares, THEN get it painted. I think it’s random whether you get the white/blue stripes or the blue/white stripes.

Hopefully that helps anyone else trying to pass historical inspection with their facelift Rivett GT. I’m going to go a pre facelift GT next.
