Could the Sixers be interested in Jonathan Kuminga on a mid-level exception contract?

The Hawks just declined Jonathan Kuminga’s $24M option, so he’s hitting unrestricted free agency. Since Bob Myers already said we’re planning to use our full $15M Non-Taxpayer MLE this summer, Kuminga is going to pop up in a lot of rumors.

Honestly, I’m torn on this one. On one hand, his athleticism is exactly what this roster lacks. He gives us elite rim pressure, transition scoring, and raw youth next to Embiid, PG, and Maxey. If his market dries up and we can snag a 23-year-old with that much upside for the MLE, it feels like a no-brainer value play.

On the other hand, the fit might be messy. He shot under 35% from deep in Atlanta, and we all know what happens when you put non-shooters next to Joel in the playoffs—the spacing dies. Plus, he wanted out of Golden State because he wasn't getting enough touches. He definitely wouldn't be a top-three option here.

Would you guys burn the MLE on him, or would you rather use that money on a reliable, high-volume 3-and-D wing who knows their role?
