How do you deal with getting stuck at a job after 1 year?

Leaving a job

I started this job in HR about a year ago. This was everything that I dreamt of. A good pay and work life balance. However, being in HR is taxing. I did not realise how much I would get stuck between the employees' issues and the doings of management. I work at a small organisation, so I basically work as a Generalist - doing everything that comes my way.

I feel like over the last few months, a lot has piled up on my plate and most of them are unfinished tasks. There is no realistic deadline, output that is asked for and everyone just forgets what we were working on until it is an "urgent" requirement. I've also been seeing a lot of attrition here and find it very hard to work in recruitment. For some background - I worked in a TA agency before this and it sucked. While my team and manager are empathetic, when it comes to the core practical work, I wish I was doing something else.

I recently updated my CV but I do not see any relevant roles for me because I think I am stuck, confused and clueless about what I want to do next. I also don't see myself working in corporate after 3-3 years and do not have an escape plan at the moment. I am stressing out just looking at the job market and how hard it was for me to find my current and previous jobs. Is anybody else in a similar position, if yes, how are you dealing with it?
