Cost to replace Sliding door in SoCal

Hello everyone. We have a door that needs to be replaced. I'm trying to figure out how much I should be paying in Southern California.

It's a sliding door, 71"x78". The guy told us that he has to open the stucco to do a "new construction" install because the current door is a retrofit and wasn't installed properly by the previous owners.

He recommended Simonton vinyl doors. Are those good?

Also, how much would it cost to install an exterior door that opens to the outside from the garage, a standard-size door?
