When do waitlist codes go out

Sorry If this has been asked - do waitlist codes usually go out the day before the first show? I'm assuming once the stage is set up? And then is it through ticketmaster? I've seen people say they have also bought waitlist tickets from seat geek or stubhub? Are they still at FV on there?
