stray kitten and roundworm

hi!! we recently were visiting friends where we found a stray kitten under our car. this was about a week or so ago. the kitten is super little, and definitely had an eye infection of some sort. we found her on a saturday and then brought her to the vet on monday (last week) to get her antibiotics. her eye infection is looking so much better; and she also had a respiratory infection that has cleared up as well. we are heading back to where we normally live after the fourth of july weekend, where we were able to get her a vet appointment in the middle of july. today she tested positive for roundworm, and the vet at the place we’re visiting said that they can’t get her dewormed until she is 8 weeks old or 2 pounds (she was 1 pound a week ago and is probably around 6-7 weeks old this week). we are just really nervous of the worms sitting in her until we can get her to the vet in july, and are wondering if she will be okay or if we should push for her to get her deworming treatment sooner?
