I hate when guests request coffee

I work at a small fairfield inn and we usually brew a pot or 2 of coffee in the morning and it’ll last a few hours before being cold. often guests will request us to brew more pots of coffee in the afternoon or evening which i don’t mind at all but the wastefulness hurts my heart. i hate doing it. our coffee pot is like a gallon and our old machine broke, the one we have now only brews a full gallon at a time. so when a guest asks me to make them coffee i’m using like 3 bags of grains, a gallon of water, for them to have one single cup, maybe 2. and then i’m having to dump alll of this coffee down the drain at the end of my shift. i hate it. i’ve brought this up to my manager and she said to just make the pot of coffee and don’t think about the wastefulness. i asked if i could bring my own container and just start bringing leftover coffee home to use as iced coffee and i was told its not allowed. anyways, i just hate it.
