David Gilmour of Bass?

I always loved his solos for the emotion and the phrasing. Whom would you consider to be a similar player on bass. I'm just getting into bass after playing drums, keyboards and guitar. I didn't know a lot of bass players aside from the usual suspects. Who would you recommend checking out?
