Should I keep reading The Empty Box and Zeroth Maria

I finished LN 1 today and I thought it was fine, some of the story seemed confusing and rushed and the characters weren't rlly well developed imo

But on MAL it's rlly highly rated and lots of people say good things ab it

Should I keep reading it or does it not rlly get better ?
