ok so nobody talks about this part of owning a crystal light
everyone reviews the fov and the clarity (yeah its great, we know) but nobody mentions how much owning this thing changes your relationship with your face. like i didnt know my own skull shape until i had to chase the perfect ipd/eye relief sweet spot for an hour straight, lol
few random things i didnt expect:
- you become a strap connoisseur. i went from "why would i pay $80 for a strap" to owning two different ones and comparing pressure points like a wine taster
- ur room lighting matters more than u think, the lenses are so clear that any glare from a window behind u just wrecks the image, had to rearrange my whole setup
- the cable is heavier than people warn u about, i basically built a little pulley system with a binder clip on my ceiling fan chain lol, feels janky but it works perfectly
- ur gonna develop a weirdly specific vocabulary for describing visual fidelity that ur friends dont care about. mura, god rays, sde... i talk about this stuff unprompted now
anyway the actual visuals are stupid good for sim stuff, just dont go in thinking its "put on and play" out of the box, its more like adopting a slightly needy pet that rewards u once u figure out its quirks
anyone else build a weird DIY cable solution or is it just me
