Have Any People of Color Read Fevre Dream?

I generally like how thorough and diligent GRRM is when discussing perspectives he himself doesn't have. While he's obviously not perfect, I'm a fan! However, reading Fevre Dream, it's impossible to read the N-word written that many times by a white man, while covering themes of slavery US history, and wonder how appropriate he was being. Have any POC read Fevre Dream? How do you think he handled the content?
