Pediatrician suspects eoe with my 9 year old son.

General Question

This goes back to 2023 my son started having issues with his throat/stomach. Took him to his pediatrician they said it’s probably reflux he had it very bad as a baby and put him on meds. The issues persisted even on meds. Took him back and I said this isn’t working something more is going on so they ran lab work .. clean. They said it was gerd and IBS and it would eventually improve. Still he isn’t getting better. Demanded they run more labs specifically for celiac and some other stomach things. Again, all negative. They didn’t feel he met the requirements for a GI since his symptoms would be ok then start again then mellow back out. Well the last year they have gradually increased. Mainly his throat. A lot of these times it seemed like it would happen in the car so we kinda thought maybe he has motion sickness but then it started happening at school, during his sports. He could be ok then all of a sudden he can’t fight the feeling he feels in his throat. He feels like something is stuck/ or has the feeling to puke but doesn’t actually have to puke. In March he randomly threw up because of that feeling but was never “sick” he never felt sick to his stomach before or after. He actually puked in his sleep he’s never ever done that. Then again in May same thing but twice in one week 5 days apart after eating the same food both nights. This past weekend his throat became unbearable and nothing he did would help it calm down. Took him back to his pediatrician who we saw a completely new dr. She looked over all his visits since 2023 up to now and she thinks this all could be eoe. A new symptom he started having as of late is having a hard time swallowing certain foods. Mainly noodles/pasta of any kind and his throat is usually really off after that. When I took him back in 2023 this all started after eating pasta. Maybe a coincidence maybe not. We thought at that time maybe it was the sauce since he did have horrible reflux as a baby/toddler. The pediatrician finally put a GI referral in and they thankfully got us in tomorrow. Have no clue what to expect but I hope this puts us on the right path finally.
