Driving Vegas to LA Sunday, July 5th

Hey guys, doing a quick 24-hour Vegas trip for the 4th of July.

I have to drop a friend off at LAX on Sunday, July 5th, for a 6:45 PM flight. I know holiday Sunday traffic will be terrible, but I want to gauge how bad it will be.

If I drive, what is the absolute latest safe time to leave the Strip?
