Cancer policy payout issued to Deceased mother for Estate of

Location: Illinois

The insurance company my mother had a policy with just issued a payment in her name. And “ for the estate” we are not sending estate through probate due to all remains assets are TOD and pass to listed Beneficiaries. The state is illinois and is also covered by a Small estate affidavit if the remaining assets are below $150,000. Can we call the company and ask them to reissue the check in the Executors name or her name by sending a copy of the small estate affidavit?
