HiPP formula gave my baby shuddering spells

Discussion 💬

Just wanted to share with formula feeding mamas that we tried switching to HiPP HA formula, because it’s supposed to be very clean and is a European formula (strict standards for quality in Europe). To be clear, we ordered from Formulaland as well as HiPP Holle Houston, first batch was formulaland, second batch 30 days later was HHH. The first time - When we first introduced it at 8 months old, the night of he started having shuddering spells (look up shudder syndrome) as well as strange new stimming behaviors. After a couple days we cut it out as this all worsened and was scary and he ended up with neurology. He is fine (all is benign and not harmful to his brain or development). No one really thought it could be the formula. This faded about a week after discontinuing the HiPP. Then second try - We tried again 30 days later (4 days ago) and after 3 days of slow introduction, it started back up again really strong. We’re back to his RTF Ailementum, and he gets some breastmilk still too. I just wanted to share this with you all, I guess there’s probably a reason it’s recommended we don’t use non-fda approved formulas. 🤷‍♀️
