[S1 Special 3] Regarding Creeping Hunger consuming soul Chinese Translation

when I was reading the novel in Chinese, it mentioned Creeping Hunger needs to consume a soul “每隔一天”，which the direction translation is indeed "every other day"

But somehow when I read it in Chinese, my impression means it needs to consume a soul EVERYDAY, like it means is it just me misunderstanding here?
