Lead from Gold got a huge buff with Edge of Fate that is still flying under the radar

Edge of Fate brought with it the new ammo system, which introduced smaller, but more frequent (and predictable) ammo drops. But (and here's the key point) the amount that Lead From Gold gave you didn't change.

This is actually a big deal. As a rough estimate of how much ammo LfG gives you now:

1. Heavy ammo progress is half as fast as special ammo progress.

2. A LfG brick is >= 2x a regular brick (e.g Trachinus gets 4 or on a regular brick and 9 from LfG).

So all told, you're basically doubling your special ammo gen with LfG (assuming you're not running other sources of special ammo gen, like special finisher).

Considering that to reap this benefit you have to do absolutely nothing but pick up heavy bricks that you were picking up already, this is a bit bonkers.

TL;DR version: Lead From Gold gud.
