Momentum Lock

Momentum Lock
The user can “lock” the momentum of anything they touch.
If a moving object has its momentum locked, it continues moving at exactly the same speed and direction regardless of outside forces. A thrown knife keeps flying forever until the effect ends. A falling person stops accelerating and continues descending at a constant speed. A speeding car ignores friction and air resistance.
If a stationary object’s momentum is locked, it cannot be pushed, pulled, or knocked over because its state of rest is preserved.
The power can also be applied to the user. Locking your own momentum lets you sprint across water without slowing down, leap enormous distances while maintaining your trajectory, or survive impacts by locking yourself just before collision.
The limitation is that only one momentum lock can exist at a time, and the user must physically touch the target to activate it. Once released, physics immediately resumes as normal.
The ability isn’t flashy, but it has countless creative applications in combat, travel, rescue, and problem-solving. It rewards clever thinking rather than overwhelming force.
