Jelly Star NFC trouble

I tried to use tap to pay at a place I go daily and used Apple pay at every day before getting the Jelly, and it worked after 40 tries..... But it shorted my whole phone out. The screen just kept fading to black every time I turned it on. I had to completely factory reset it to get the screen to work again. Which was super annoying. And I've been afraid to try it again because I don't want to have to reset my phone again.

I've been using the Jelly Star for a few weeks now. I really like it, and I don't mind the older version of Android at all. And other than NFC being weird, I've had no issues with it. No NFC wouldn't be the end of the world, but I have become super reliant on it and would love to have it on the Jelly.

Has anyone experienced this? Know any work around? 🤞
