Yeah, I did go on my alt, because I felt it was wrong to see people trying to argue with this person, wasting their time. It is important to hear full sides when DMs are private. I'm making this post because he claimed my screenshot I littered oevr his comment sections was out-of-context. I was steel-manning his opinion on antifeat 5. It shouldn't even work.

Let's respond to the base claims he makes in his post. Those "Antifeat \_: Why..." under his post. The argument we had was convoluted and annoying, so **I respond to base claimsm and won't bring up what he said in DMs, which should be defenses of his problems here. No problems responding to the first writing and arguments he makes on the post.** I will go straight for the jugular on why so many things he lists are too wrong to defend. Also, he treats L as doing some redundant things (Antifeat 12, why did he reveal info to Light for "no" reason?!?) in the post when he himself is listing redundant side arguments in antifeat 5.

Let's start with the antifeat I was trying to refute in the screenshot I posted in his comment section. (2nd picture) in the first post, his problem:

**>Antifeat 5: L had like 10 cameras hidden on Light's desk. Light had a small tv weighing down the chips bag. How did L not notice something weird when the almost chips bag was unmoved the whole night that Light was studying, and then also the outline caused by gravity accentuating the TV after Light picked up the bag to throw it in the bin?**

First of all, let's dismiss something. **"How did L not notice something weird when the almost chips bag was unmoved the whole night he was studying"**

\- Light wasn't studying the whole night. He takes the potato chip bag and opens it after Ryuk tells him the locations and he visualizes them. When he (slowly) writes three names, he yawns and says "few more to go", showing us the end of his studying closely after he finishes writing the names.

\- Just because he says "I've been studying all night" in his thoughts doesn't mean it was all night. The scene if you actually read the chapter isn't very long, following dinner with family which can't be past midnight. "Few more to go" and then he went to sleep. It skips to the next morning and he's getting out of bed. So he had time to sleep = not all night

\- He exacerbates the amount of time Light had the potato chip bag unmoved. In the first place, *as long as he's not doing anything but studying at the table,* there is no reason to complain about him not moving the potato chip bag. He has it there as he studies, throws it out unfinished then keeps studying. I'm surprised he mentioned this, you should be too. Think about every complaint you've heard about Death Note. This takes the cake.

Now, let's debunk the rest. **He claims that the second thing L should've noticed was weird (therefore, he is claiming it should be visible!) when Light picked up the bag to throw it away, the potato chip bag should've accentuated the shape of the mini-TV by gravity and made a visible detail, and he's on L's case for not noticing it.**

\- In a second post, he said in the image I was taking it out of context which I interpret as the screenshot I sent not being representative of what he was actually claiming; So I'm strawmanning. It is conflicting, because he never says I'm strawmanning in DMs. When I told him why that was wrong, he said "Or L is just dumb" rather than saying "you misunderstood" or going ahead and confronting the impossibility of it being "visible".

\- Why does he think it's visible? Let's first talk basic physics. Gravity is in the y-axis. You should not mention gravity, because it is a solely y-axis force in the scenario. When Light picks it up, he is providing normal force in the y-axis direction going UP when his fingers provide a floor for the bag to sit on, which means that there is an fNET force of 0. Both forces canceled out. There is no gravitational force acting on the potato chip bag in a meaningful way if the net force is 0 because Light's hands aren't being pulled down to the ground (the mini-TV isn't that heavy, that's why, Light's exertion nulls the force of the gravitational pull downwards). If there wasn't a net force of 0 with both forces canceling eachother, out, and gravity was the superior force, then the mini-TV would be pushing down visibly on the potato chip bag its in as it is pulled to the ground and would accentuate the shape that way. Light is holding it so it is totally suspended and what should be accentuating it is Light's fingers as the bag bends around them and stops at his fingertips when he holds the bag. Which is super negligible and also shouldn't work.

\- My conclusion: If there is a net force of 0 because he holds it providing proper normal force, it means you should not be accounting for "gravity", the downwards only force, doing anything to the shape. You should be arguing for the potato chip bag accentuating the shape of the TV when Light sccunches up the bag. He can't fully scrunch it up.

Let's get to the sweet part.

\- There are chips, so if you scrunch it up that interferes with the shape because it is a mini-TV inside at the center, then chips squished between it and the walls of the bag, that does not produce an accentuation of the smooth straight lined walls of the mini-TV. It is ragged.

This next thing debunks any accentuation. Remember, accentuation = emphasizing the shape of something. That's why we say dresses accentuate a woman's curves. It shows them off, tight dresses, okay?

If you want to believe there was accentuation or not, it doesn't matter when you hear THIS...!

\- REFER to picture 3. I won't quote it. I'll give YOU the SCAN of L saying this.

"The tapes we got from the bugs and cameras" ignore the bugs. Cameras plural. They seemed concentrated in Light's room. Narratively they should be since L's profile should have narrowed down to make Light a prime suspect before potato chip even started, rather than both families, because Light is intelligent as he shows in the L Isolation strategy.

So.. he studied the cameras of the house, but let's focus on the ones in Light's room. By extension this means he studied cameras in multiple locations and angles of Light's room numerous times. So he had multiple angles he could view Light throwing out the potato chip bag from as he reviews all footage repeatedly. He caught nothing. L SAYS he caught zero suspicious activity.

This is what I argued in the picture. If the world's greatest detective studied the clip of his potato chip trick multiple times and never caught any accentuation, that either means there wasn't any (strongest interpretation) or the accentuation was too negligible.

If you wanna claim DN is a stupid verse, then L is so hierarchally above everybody he should atleast be considered average human/genius level and trained to observe because of his job, so above average observation, if he caught nothing in this situation it is credible to claim via this that there was no/negligible amounts of accentuation.

Don't underestimate Light himself. It is a given that he would think to not try and accentuate the mini-TV in the bag.

\---

**Antifeat 1: L revealing that he's alive after the Lind L. broadcast. Could've used the same tactic over and over if he didn't let Light know he's alive and the secrets of his strategy. What stops him from limiting it further...**

\- L reveals that Lind L. Tailor was a decoy so that he can test an important conclusion he reasoned. Does Kira have a limitation? When L stakes his life on it, Kira can't kill him, and it was super important for L. His plans would be vastly different if he did not know this. There would've been more losses at the Sakura TV police raid if he does not know First Kira's initial limitation and how second Kira is different.

This would have to be L making criminals already incarcerated get reported on before Lind L. Tailor broadcast. This falls apart when you realize..

\- The G20 summit is set and the world government is panicking just 6 days after Kira begins killing. Sending incarcerated criminals and acting as if they are committing new crimes is hard and will produce backlash from their families, overall weak that can be seen through and have pushbak. Also, inoptimal considering he accounts for the G20 summit and has to dela with the panic from countries. He must act decisively and fast, rather than sending multiple criminals overtime.

\- The criminals, they could be recognized if Kira watched the news, or.. if Kira was a policeman, would be hard to get photos for them and you couldn't produce them hurting people LIVE (Think about how the first Kira victim is someone holding a family hostage) you'd have to fabricate them killing someone else and need someone else for it(Why make them murderers? Because Kira is killing murderers), because if they're reported on there is a story about their crime, not just sending their face out and saying "this is a murderer yadda yadda" with 0 details. There are adversities for you trying to say this.

\- For this, we need to dismiss it. He took a more optimal and imperative course of action which was soothing the police at the G20 summit and creating the broadcast, then revealing his existence to pressure Kira and point him to fighting L which progresses the case as he motivates Kira to kill hi which requires getting in close since L is anonymous. It is better than approximating Kira's close location because it is a waste of time. He'd have to do that and then do what he did after with the broadcast which narrows the families down to Raye's 2 families all over again.

**Antifeat 2: Revealing himself to the remaining police members just because he needs police help. He's pressed L gave up his facial anonymity and paints L as a god of resources when Kira has dispatched of all the police he can use. Idiot.**

\- He has name and face anonymity, which the OP of that post conflates with his facial anonymity. It's not over if one of them is shown. He reasoned Kira had a face and NAME limitation. He is practically almost completely fine to show his face, it was just not desirable as it is an effect from Kira's strategy, not of his own volition. So.. the most important part to debunk this is realizing L can show his face. It's not optimal, but as long as Kira won't have his face, he's fine. This changes when the second Kira arc happens, but hey, that's not fair to bring up in L's perspective, he doesn't tell the future

\- I'm pretty sure he ACTUALLY NEEDS the police in this case, something he emphasized in literally chapter 2. The task force is backed by the NPA still but they won't help L himself. They help him with things like the raid on sakura TV when they had an entire SWAT team, that's it, it's just they're not on the task force. The TF is L's bridge to them while I'm pretty sure he NEEDS a police to do something like retrieve surveillance footage (the task force gets the FBI's death footage for L, I'm not convinced he has the resources to do that otherwise, he is anonymous himself and Watari is not official law enforcement that can take footage from public places, police do that.)

**Antifeat 3: Why did L not give the FBI fake ID's to use?**

\- In the very first place he does NOT need to. People say I'm insane for this, I don't care. Seriously! They are expected to follow the families near 24/7 whenever they are outside. Their schedule should center around following the families, without distractions or going back to get a fake ID. Why? ⤵️

\- Because they came into the country before Kira revealed he could control the actions leading to death, that's an intended move he made. They have name anonymity even if Kira sees their face. They are expected to NOT interact with Kira, that is very important. Just shadow the members of the families they watch over. And they were doing good, we only saw Light noticing.. due to Ryuk who is sensorially stronger than the human Light Yagami in this situation. The police are the ones to notice after, only because the FBI were dead. So tell me. Do you think they needed fake ID's when they were expected to stalk and not interact in any single way?

\- When L realizes Kira can control the actions leading to death, it is an INDICATIVE "hey, this means that Kira.. *could* engineer a situation to grab one of their names.." but they are still supposed to be monitoring constantly, it wouldn't be easy to get them the fake ID's unless you came to them. Who does L have to bring to them? Nobody! The FBI director would have to bring more FBI into the country to get the already in-country FBI their ID's. They are following the NPA and L can't have himself or the NPA bringing them fake ID's, they weren't supposed to know and L can't come out and show his face right now. Also, it is up to the FBI director. It isn't even in L's jurisdiction to begin with. He is not a higher-up to the director, because the director can refuse. Rather, he is a detective who needs agents and law enforcement always begrudgingly helps him because he is always right. Don't mistake the FBI director's job for L's. He cannot directly contact the FBI, only indirectly through the director.

**Antifeat 4: When L found out Kira can access police info, why did he continue letting them put info on their computers? L had the police hide the deaths from the news because he doesn't want Kira to find the result of the test, but that's pointless if Kira doesn't need the news when he has access to NPA information.**

\- Are you stupid!!! It was already written in BEFORE L told them to do that. Soichiro writes it as the information is released. It's as if you didn't read the manga.

\- We do not know if L told them to stop putting in information or not after this. It's not important, why? Because all you see is Light writing names in, then Soichiro getting the call with no narration of any significant time passing. He writes these in the records of police data, and Light sits there in real-time seeing the results entered in. He does it and gets the results in the same sitting. If L told them to or not it wouldn't matter because Light was there and saw it in real-time. It also wouldn't be the focus of the scene because too late. The scene cut off after he talked about hiding it from the media to give us the NPA's reactions then Light's result.

Already wrote antifeat 5 first because it was the main focus and reason I wrote this post.

**Antifeat 6: Why did L remove all voice recorders? He could've left one in.**

\- He's not even SUPPOSED to be doing any surveillance. He has a strained relationship with police after L Isolation, because of how effective Light's strategy was on the relationships of L to his pawns, even after failing in his main goal to have them get L's name.

I want to say, why does he do L Isolation? I'm sidetracking. Most people don't know this, but he does that because of dramatic irony. "Viewer knows something a character doesn't." We know in chapter 2 L's so anonymous only Watari knows his personal and contact information. If Light knew that from what Soichiro says to Matsuda, he wouldn't have done this strategy under that main goal, because he would've known it was a hopeless endeavor.

\- The single wiretap continues recording constantly in real-time and presents problems that way. He doesn't want the other TF members to catch this, which would create unnecessary tensions. And he respects Soichiro.

\- If he collected no activity before, he likely wouldn't collect some after. Because L doesn't know about the Shinigami. In his perspective, Kira might've acted to pass surveillance contingent on the door trap and then would've continued acting that way because L does not know about Ryuk so L won't know that Kira, if he thinks Kira passed surveillance knowingly, has a method to keep checking for wiretaps. In L's perspective Kira would've just continued acting to pass any surveillance. If he did leave a recorder in, there would be no result. His perspective from his lack of information has Kira not owning any method to know if wiretaps still exist or not and would continue cautious. Especially after his deductive framework concludes Kira is intelligent.

**Antifeat 7: Why didn't L use someone else to pretend being L when he did self revelation?**

\- Self revelation is more than just revealing himself. It also encompasses the afterwards of their first meeting, like the letter trap in the cafe and later on. It centered around revealing his identity and keeping Light close, where, if he wasn't Kira, he'd be a valuable asset to the TF. And when they meet in-person, L could interact with Light way more meaningfully than having an inferior proxy follow L's orders and "try" to emulate L. It is also a hindrance incase Light integrates into the police later on, because he'd.. HAVE to meet the real L at some point.

Do you see where I'm going with this? Everything he thinks is an antifeat is just one more thing proving he did not read the manga. Or.. proves that he did not read the manga when making this post, maybe he read it before and writes from memory.

The rest of them are stupid. Like, oh, why does L get scared realizing monstrous gods of death exist that completely overwrites his impression and opinion about the Kiras? He believed they were just naive, playing with tools beyond comprehension, did not know that death power users are accompanied by **primordial.. gods..** of **death..** It's a surprising thought even if you know "this case deals with the supernatural". There is some modicum of truth to it, but it is not some considerable antifeat that you need to constantly mention. It is worldview breaking information.

The next antifeats (it's 14 listed on his post) try to paint feats or responsible, careful actions of L's as antifeats. I can't stop talking about the potato chip one, though. Think about the potato chip antifeat, number 5, that I talked about first. Refer to the second photo. I was right. I did not need to talk about other things, because if his argument was saying I took out of context a screenshot I made sure contained a lot of context for what we were arguing, then how credible are his other arguments? When this is one of the easiest things to argue about..? He said it's not representative of what he was actually arguing. When you accentuate something it is to make something more obvious, so it can't continue to be a non-visible detail which is what I was arguing for, his endpoint. He wanted to argue that L wasn't spotting the mini-TV which he believes was visible in the potato chip bag, violating basic physics and choosing not to accept direct implication that there was just no visible detail, via viewing the footage clips from multiple angles repeatedly and not spotitng anything. Do you know how stupid that is? Then I said, hey, you actually believe that? He said I wasn't strawmanning then, all he had to say was "Or L is just dumb". This really got me pissed the rest of the night. How do we have people like this in this subreddit receiving support? His post is one of the most popular this week.

But yeah, these were some of my disagreements about what he said. I am publicizing my disagreements and counterarguments from the debate we had in DMs. (now reflected on and improved arguments that still carry near everything I argued in DMs before, I was still right that he was wrong on practically all of them, only didn't answer for 7/10/14 initially because i didn't study the chapters for 7/10 and needed to reread, then agreed 14 was an antifeat, like most other people, although there may be a possible explanation, I haven't seen it or thought of it yet.)

My disagreements with this post's antifeats, because he claimed I took a screenshot out of context in our debate.
