org.gnome.mutter auto-maximize change?

Has the default value for this "org.gnome.mutter auto-maximize" changed recently?

I have struggled with my Firefox window opening to a smaller than normal size recently and could not figure out why until a google search's AI suggestion led me to setting this to false (it was true).

I do not believe (or at least remember) changing this value at any point.

The odd thing, to me at least, is the setting name doesn't imply the behavior I was seeing. Firefox previously "remembered" my window size (maybe 90% of the screen size) when closing and would open at that size next time. Recently when I open Firefox it would open a smaller window (maybe 50% of the total screen area) instead.
