Undergraduate paper accepted at a conference - a few doubts
myquals I am an undergraduate B.Tech student. Last semester we had a 2-credit Research course where my team worked on a research project. Our professors liked our work, we got good grades, and thought the work had some potential, so we randomly submitted it to a conference without expecting much.
A few months later, we received an acceptance email saying our paper was accepted after peer review. This is our first time dealing with conferences, so we're completely new to the process.
The conference requires at least one author to register (₹8,000), submit the camera-ready paper, plagiarism report (<15%), AI similarity report (0%), and present the paper.
We have a few doubts:
After paying the registration fee, is there any chance the organizers might decide not to publish our paper because they don't like our presentation or because we can't answer questions well? Since ₹8k is a significant amount for us, we're worried about spending it and then not getting the publication.
We asked one of our professors for a Turnitin report. Our paper shows 8% plagiarism (which is within the required limit) but 5% AI similarity, whereas the conference mentions 0% AI similarity. Is it realistically possible to reduce this to 0%
