Diagnosed with diabetes t2 in Austria

Hi, I am new. Warning, long text.

M 46, 145kg, 192cm, blood sugar 650 after cortisone for 10 days. Hospitalized for 2 weeks. Got set up with Glargine 24 units and Apidra 1 per 10KH. 170 morning sugar was demed "perfect" 2000mg Metformin and Jardiance 10mg. I have hypertension as well. 7,5 Ramipril and 20mg Lercanidipin (20 years more modern than the Amlodipine I was taking, after asking 5 MDs for modern medication and got declined 4 times) for that. Cramps in legs at night, had to beg for magnesium. Got a Libre 3 on my arm. 6 MDs in the hospital, 6 different opinions. More meds suggested and highly encouraged, statines, more against my blood pressure, Ozempic,... F*ck them all.

Metformin and Jardiance f*cked my metabolism within 3 days. Liquid diarrhea, toilet runs with full bladder every 30-60 minutes around the clock. Urine is alcalic and looks like icetea. Nearly fainted on morning 3. Went in hypo after 30 min swimming, starting with 170 blood sugar. Got told I am untrained... FFS I can swim for 4 hours. I got no fat on my legs, can't even set the injections there. Potassium got low in my blood, needed more pills...no doctor knew why (side effect of both insulins according to manufacturer rolleyes)

I have done my reading about these meds. Thrown out Metformin and Jardiance, never going back.

It's 3 weeks since my admission to hospital. 25 Glargine, new fresh Apidra 1 per 30KH (yes 3 times as effective as the clinic garbage, same brand, same stuff) New weight is 133kg. Sugar range 70-180, TIR = 90%, 90-160 (range of a healthy human) = 75%, GMI prediction for longtime sugar = 6,9%, all still improving. 2k kcal a day, about 1k less than needed diet.500-800 per meal. Potassium focus in diet now. 120 gram protein a day. Drinking low sugar isotonics to get back. Avoiding suggar drinks. Vitamins, iodine, selenium in the morning, 300 magnesium complex in the evening. No hunger no MDs asked. Digestion is normal again. Morning sugar 130-140, sugar spikes to 180-200 for 30 min after eating, goes down to below 140 then within 2 hours. Urine is clear and normal. I can eat up to 20KH without Apidra and it does the same. Blood pressure at rest ~ 140/90 I feel well with that, f*ck the relative risk increase of 1,5% compared to 120/80 where I feel like fainting (effect of Jardiance). My hart, organs, arteries got checked in hospital, everything OK. Dropping around 200g a day in bodyweight right now. I even eat out or order food twice a week, just eating half a pizza or ordering half of what I used to eat. No problems, no spikes.

Why do the MDs try to force me on meds that hurt my body? Why play along? My goal is getting down to 105kg (with everything below that I loose muscle and feel bad, been there done that in my early 30ties)

Mandatory insurance covers insulin (enough Apidra for 3 months and Glargine for 2 in my fridge, that's what they will give me every month, will take that till I have 6 months in reserve, availability is not predictable I got told so better safe than sorry) I pay around 8€ per package of meds fixed, no matter what if on prescription by any MD. Yes 5x300 Units Apidra is 8€ for me. Same with blood pressure meds Needles, blood test and finger picks is 100% free. The Abbott freestyle 3 is paid by insurance as well I got just informed. Sent every 3 months. Don't think I can stock them like insulin. No there are no hospital bills.
