Can't get starui inventory to work even with free lanes compatibility patch

I finally upgraded my pc and was excited to finally try starfield but I can't get starui to work even with the free lanes compatibility patch. My inventory is still vanilla (which is honestly the worst looking inventory menu they've ever made other than morrowind). What else can I try to get it to work? Or is there a better working ui mod out now? There is no way im going through a 100 hour game with this nested bs menu lol.
