Green card approved in 68 days, interview waived.

I received a notice of approval of my i-485 (through US citizen son) today. This came as a complete surprise as I was expecting a Notice of Interview. Here is my timeline:

Receipt notice - April 27

Biometrics scheduled - May 7

Biometrics completed - May 28

Case approved - July 2

I am from one of the "restricted" countries, but have lived in the US for a long time in another visa category.

I'm grateful for the information from posts in different sub-Reddits, which helped to manage my expectations and navigate my journey. I eagerly await my GC in the mail!
