My honest review of AlgoZenith ( https://maang.in ) after 1 year (June 2025 batch)

I joined AlgoZenith in June 2025.

First, I want to make it clear that this is not a hate post. The DSA content is good, and I did learn a lot from the program. This post is only about setting the right expectations for anyone thinking of buying the course.

What they teach

The curriculum is fairly comprehensive:

  • ~6 months focused on DSA
  • Development
  • Core CS subjects
  • LLD (good)
  • HLD (basic but useful)
  • Aptitude
  • Other interview preparation topics

I don't have complaints about the learning content itself.

Why I actually bought the course

The biggest reason I enrolled was placement support.

At the time, the promises that attracted me were:

  • Up to 5 referrals to companies.
  • Placement support where startups would hire from the AlgoZenith placement pool.
  • Mock interviews with alumni from different companies.
  • If you score 8/10 or above in the mock interview (after solving 300+ DSA problems on their platform and building a project), you get added to the placement pool and WhatsApp group where companies hire from.

This sounded great, and I assumed there would be a steady flow of interview opportunities.

My experience with the placement support

Unfortunately, this is where my expectations didn't match reality.

I've been in the placement pool for around 4 months.

During that time:

  • One company came for internships but rejected all eligible candidates after a very short screening call without conducting technical interviews.
  • Another frontend company gave an assignment, scheduled interviews, and eventually rejected the candidates.
  • For the last 2-3 months, there have been almost no company updates or hiring opportunities in the placement group.

Most of the time, the WhatsApp group is simply inactive.

I also know a 2026 graduate who has been in the placement pool for around 8 months and is still waiting for opportunities.

Again, this is just what I've personally observed.

About referrals

The referrals do exist, but don't assume they're guaranteed interview calls.

A referral increases your chances, but it is still just a referral. Whether you get shortlisted depends on the company and your profile.

My advice

If you're buying AlgoZenith only for learning DSA and interview preparation, I think it's a solid course.

But if you're buying it because you expect placement support or referrals to reliably get you interviews or a job, please don't depend on that.

Treat the placement support as a bonus, not as the main reason to spend your money.

Build your own projects, keep improving your DSA, apply everywhere, network on LinkedIn, and seek referrals independently.

That's the mindset I wish I had when I enrolled.

This is just my personal experience, and others may have had a different one. I'd also like to hear from other AlgoZenith students—has your experience with the placement support been similar or different?
