I finally shipped my personal finance app, **MoneyLexa – Expense Tracker**, after months of development.

As a full-stack developer, building an iOS app taught me a lot beyond just writing code.

Some of the biggest challenges I ran into:

* Designing a UI that feels fast and intuitive for adding expenses.
* Building reusable components instead of duplicating screens.
* Optimizing performance so charts and transaction lists remain smooth as the dataset grows.
* Balancing feature requests with keeping the app simple.
* Preparing App Store assets and screenshots (more time-consuming than I expected).

Tech stack:

* React Native
* Expo
* TypeScript
* SQLite for local storage
* RevenueCat for subscriptions
* Apple Sign In
* iCloud sync support

Some features:

* Expense & income tracking
* Budgets
* Categories
* Financial analytics
* Recurring transactions
* Premium subscription

I'd love feedback from other iOS/React Native developers.

If you've built a finance app before:

* What architecture worked well for you?
* Any performance tips for handling large transaction datasets?
* What features do users request the most?

App Store:

Happy to answer any questions about the implementation or development process.

Notice that **there's no App Store link**. If someone asks to see the app, you can share it in the comments. This is much more in line with the subreddit's focus.
