I think posting heavily filtered/edited selfies harms a lot of passive/curious scrollers and may negatively affect there transition.

Discussion

Ive been scrolling through many Trans related subs the last few years. Seen many cool/pretty transitions and note worthy transformations. Im happy for those people or anyone who is happy with themselves and there appearance.

However, ive been seeing quite a few heavily filtered and edited pics and i guess people are now using AI to enhance them? Normally, id say youre just hurting yourselves and the validation you recieve is kinda hollow if thats not what you really look like but if it makes ya happy, go for it. Afterall, i myself clearly like being validated. I wont judge them for that.

Still, a lot of people cant seem to tell if theyre filtered/edited pics and get the wrong idea. Some people read the OPs headline and think, "Dang! She can look like that in 6 months and she looked more masculine then me before!"... those people then hop on hormones, 6 month roles around and they dont look that different and get frustrated. Some may even give up and assume 'HRT must not be for me... im doomed forever as a guy!"

All im saying people, try to be honest in your after pics. If youve used filters or distorted it in anyway, say so... any ffs, or other surgeries too should probably be mentioned. That way, no one gets the wrong idea about what HRT can really do. Yes, its amazing and some people see results right away but others may have to spend a few years. Some girls even feel the need to get surgery down the line.no shame in it. <3
