Broken funny bone

I’ve been in bed recovering from an accident that injured my leg. As a pick me up, I’ve decided to find some comedies to watch. Naturally, I went for something recent (American), I found nothing that was very funny. So, I went back a few years, films I have heard of but never seen or had never heard of; I landed on Superbad, 40 year old virgin (American), Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople (Kiwi) and more recently La Fée (France 2011) and C’è Ancora Domani (Italy 2023). How have I not heard of these? They were hilarious. American comedies seemed to be much funnier in the past, what happened? The other 4 films were full so much creativity and risks. Anyway, I have too much time on my hands, I hope I recover soon because I miss being outside.
