Is it weird to hate the system that gave you everything?
I wanna know what people think of this. For reference, I'm 21, arguably I'm from a very privileged and often criticised portion of Pakistani society. Hell even right now, I'm sitting in the United States for a vacation, something most Pakistanis could never even dream of doing.
I've grown up in a way people wish their kids would be able to grow up, everything handed to me, everything provided. I love my parents, ofcourse I do. Neither of them are waderas or have made their wealth from harming others or their livelihoods, we donate, do charity and shelter animals. We try, especially I try to have a positive impact, use this privilege for something good.
But it's weird because all the benefits and lifestyle we enjoy in Pakistan even if indirectly comes at the expense of the average Pakistani. When the rupee gets weaker, our wealth inflates, when company margins go up and stocks increase, our wealth goes up. When more and more wealth is concentrated in the private sector, and fewer and fewer and fewer services become available to the general public, we enjoy ease of access.
It all feels very unfair, I can barely speak Urdu, I'm not Muslim by any metric. I feel like I exist in a different world to the average Pakistani, to the point that I don't know what I consider myself, it's made it very hard to connect with people outside of my circle. It makes it very hard to see my achievements as genuine, it makes it very hard to think that I can succeed without these advantages and benefits being thrown at my feet. I don't want to end up as another guy who lives off of his parents business.
