"Very Malaysian" fabrics?

Hi, I'm visiting KL soon from San Francisco, and I have a friend back home who's a tailor and makes her own clothes. I'm hoping to buy her some good quality fabric that's different from what she could easily get in the US, ideally something unique or specific to Malaysia. What stores should I check out, and is there anything I can look for (key words in the description, or looking at the fabric itself) to make sure it's high quality?
