Advice requested for Sector X expert challenges

So the only thing I'm missing on that map is beating the mission without getting hit.

I'm more familiar with the Spyborg path so I'm trying for that but I just can't seem to dodge the chunk of panel he throws to start off phase 2. I've tried flying way to the upper edge of the screen, tried starting lower and flying to the side as fast as I can and nothing's worked. So how is it actually supposed to be done?

Failing that would it be easier to try going no hit through the warp dimension?
