how long can they live unfed?

My neighbours from the 2 floors upstairs have bedbugs (like 3 apartments on that floor, probably since 6 months ago). One month ago I got them too, threw away my beds and somehow... im still getting bitten.

To be honest, calling "experts" with pricey treatments and maybe no results seems very stressful and not really able to solve the problem. I have a lot of furniture sticked together since its a small apartment, so the bedbugs could be practically anywhere.

I was thinking on going somewhere with rent and bringing only a few necessary things, and maybe living there for like 1 year or something.

That being said: since now its july and its scorching hot, and i leave for 1 year (the winter is indeed cold though), could they die from being unfed?
