Advice for buying house from in-laws.

My in laws are immigrants and want to retire in their home country to be closer to family. They own their current house and want to sell it to my wife and I but are unsure of the best way to do so. We will be talking to realtors soon to ask their advice but does anyone here have advice they’d give us to make this process as secure, efficient, and as inexpensive as possible?
