Temporary Crown Fell Out After 2 Days, Dentist Closed until Monday, Used Temparin Max to Reattach, Sleeping
Seeking advice, because I am getting conflicting messages from searching the web (the new Google search AI is particularly bad with this).
Just had a temporary crown placed on Tuesday afternoon for a tooth that previously had a root canal. Rear left-bottom molar.
I know these things happen, but I'm really bummed out about it. I tried to be really careful about eating, avoiding chewing, etc. flossing, brushing, etc. The temporary filling came out last night (Thursday, 2 nights after the temporary was placed) after brushing and swishing with mouthwash. Popped out in one piece. Cleaned it up and placed it in a plastic bag overnight. Experiencing no pain, because the tooth had a root canal.
Called dentist this morning - off for the July 4th holiday weekend until Monday. I was concerned about not having the temporary in place and I had some DenTek Temparin Max in the house. So I used it to set the temp crown back in place. Feels perfectly fine at the moment (maybe just ever so slightly off, but tolerable).
Now I am reading conflicting things, and am worried. Dentek Temparin Max seems to be strong, as such that it would require a dentist to clean off the tooth and drill in order to fully remove the cement. At the moment, the bond seems fine, and again, experiencing no pain.
However, I am now worried about going to sleep, because of the risk of the crown becoming loose and swallowing/choking. The internet advises to remove the temp crown at night, but I don't know if I should with this type of over the counter cement.
Long story short. Reset a Temporary Crown that fell out with Temparin Max. Not sure what to do at night, especially with regard to sleeping. Asking advice on what to do. I appreciate any wisdom.
