How can I evolve past the need for vengeance?

💭Seeking Support & Advice

I have been hurt very badly by an ex partner who now is married and expecting a child with the ex he put me through hell over. I have spent the past years learning to trust and love life again, regardless of the CPTSD that resulted from that relationship.

At this stage of my life I believe that I’ve healed and have completely delegated the matter to God, however, something within me is deeply unsatisfied by him moving on while having abandoned me in the nastiest of ways.

I have a hunger in life to see him suffer, and I know it’s not normal but it has gotten to a point where it became a proper objective in my purpose—to find him suffering the same way I did the past years.

I have come across a handful of his pictures recently. One of the photos was so hideous I sighed in relief, and after a couple of days the high of it was gone. Though I’ve healed, I find myself back in square one, pining for vengeance.

Upon learning about the marriage, I have hoped and wished that it would dissolve and he would come back to me. However, the longing aspect has completely subdued, resulting in the pure desire for his suffering.

I’ve already sought therapy and spoken endlessly about this but I’m too evolved to start from scratch with a therapist—and my only issue remains with my thirst for justice. What exercises can I implement to overcome that?

(I must note that I’m pointing out the shadow of my healing process. I have not caused direct harm to anyone nor do I intend to. I want to clear my conscience, hence my asking for advice on how to let go. Although I very much could ruin both their lives just by running my mouth.)

(I did not intend to share this in the BPD subreddit because he weaponized it against me so much to the point that I haven’t identified with it since but with this newfound energy and hatred resurfacing I think I might have BPD)
