ACNH local multiplayer?

To clarify, this is about multicontroller, same system multiplayer, not LDN. Would there be a way to do this? Specifically I am trying to play ACNH with someone, but I don't know how we could play together and be in the same island. Is there a way to do this? I was thinking of using Parsec, but since there's not Switch profiles, I don't know if it would work.
