BloodThirster Base/Stance

Just finished building my first BloodThirster and after completing it I realized how fucking unstable it looks. Has anyone had any experience with cutting the flames off down to the hoof and then building a custom base with cork and green stuff for it to stand on?

Figured I could drill a bit of wire into its hoof/leg and then through the cork and green stuff and into the base. Add shit loads of super glue and then cover everything in skulls.

Any ideas? Or is the flame stand actually somewhat sturdy?
