Best women’s hiking shoes for mountains

What are the best lightweight hiking shoes for rocky mountains? I’ve been getting into hiking and am usually in NC where the trails get pretty rough. I need something lightweight that won’t smash my toes when i go downhill, preferably not trail runners. Any shoe suggestions or tips?
